I established my own business in 2001 designing and making bespoke pieces of furniture to suit individual client?s requirements as well as incorporating work for larger companies.  Based near the Cumbria / North Yorkshire / Lancashire borders in my small rural workshop, I work largely in the North West, although fitting work has taken me to Italy, France, Netherlands, Singapore and New York.

I focus on simple contemporary designs creating fine, long-lasting pieces of furniture from the highest quality materials. My recent work has moved towards property refurbishment work and conservation joinery

I was born in 1975 into a practical and design-based family.  I enjoyed making things by hand from a young age and we completed our first wooden boat when I was only 10 ? still going strong!  I worked a full joinery apprenticeship in a local workshop whilst studying joinery at Lancaster and Morecambe College.  After that highly practical training I moved on to an art-based 3D Design National Diploma at York College.  This lead to an HND in fine furniture-making at the specialist Rycotewood College in Oxfordshire.

Since then I have chosen to develop my skills by working in a variety of related areas.  Dick Reid?s carving workshop in York provided insight, working alongside stone and wood carvers making fine, unique pieces for buildings such as York Minster, Windsor Castle and Highgrove House.  Other experience has varied from making bespoke kitchens to working on luxury super yachts such as Atlantide.
